With our Events philosophy, we are aiming to make sure every single student who attends all of our programming obtains a full 360-degree understanding of Investment Research process and is also ready for Investment Banking interviews.

To follow that vision, we engage the best Bay Street Professionals and our alumni to bring in first-hand knowledge and exclusive networking opportunities. Our club alumni land placements at the most prestigious financial institutions, ranging from Canadian Big 6 banks, to Private Equity, Quant Trading firms, Portfolio Managers and renowned US market players like Wells Fargo and Jp Morgan. UTM Capital Analyst Program
Our target scope of work is our analyst program. A pool of 150+ active analysts, divided into six Investment Banking-style coverage groups, is pursuing Equity Research work during the year, and the goal of the club is to get their Capital Markets skills and knowledge on par with the highest standard in the industry. While analysts spend most of the time working on their research individually with the Investment Research Leader and assigned Alumni Mentors (2 per team), there are 3 event for which all the teams get together: Opening Ceremony - our Grande event to kick off the year, Elevator Stock Pitch - intermediary milestone and an opportunity for analysts to showcase their work, and Closing Ceremony - a 4-hour-long time for analysts to deliver their final presentations - Equity Research grade pitch decks on the stock of their selection within their industry of coverage that teams believe has the most upside. UTMCAP Speaker Series
We invite speakers from a host of sub-industries across investment finance to speak to our Analyst class on a whole host of topics. Previous speakers include Investment Bankers, Private Equity Partners, Hedge Fund Managers, Venture Capitalists, & C-Suite professionals. We announce our speakers weeks in advance so be sure to check out our Social Media channels for any updates.
UTMCAP Workshop Series
Workshops are the best way for us to educate our analysts. We bring our most experienced alumni to deliver an educational presentation on a particular topic. This year, we hosted an Equity Research Walkthrough, a Dataset and Resources workshop, a Valuation Workshop, a Fixed Income Workshop, a FactSet Workshop; a Marquee Financial modelling Training and Presentation Skills workshop are coming ahead of us. While most of the workshop materials are proprietary, some can be found on the Resources tab on the website.
